Nominations for Workers’ Compensation Distinguished Lawyer Award

This award, presented jointly by KIDS’ CHANCE Inc. of Missouri and The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, is given annually to the St. Louis Workers’ Compensation attorney whose honesty, integrity, competence, zeal, selflessness and leaders – in short, professionalism – have earned the respect of the community by practicing law in the manner in which all should. This honor publicly recognizes one who continually strives to balance the difficult and competing demands faced by a dedicated advocate:

  • Deal honestly with the court and with opponents at all times
  • Advocate zealously even when doing so may anger judge or peer
  • Conduct oneself with dignity and decorum
  • Invest time and energy necessary to remain competent
  • Devote time and talent to community affairs such as teaching legislation, writing and other charitable or public-spirited activities
  • Inspire others to act nobly and professionally

This award stands as an exhortation to all attorneys that the proper balance of these principles, this nexus of our values as advocates, must always remain our paramount goal. Previous recipients of the award are: Bob Sihnhold, Dan Chatfield, Michael Londoff, Bob Evans and Lee Schaefer. Nominations in writing will be accepted until August 15, 2008. Please submit nominations to Jim Susman, P.O. Box 410384, St. Louis, MO 63141.
